Bandwidth Pool: more than one connection can carry
When a single internet connection is the bottleneck, a bigger server doesn't help. Bandwidth Pool splits a large transfer and streams it over several encrypted network paths at the same time, using spare capacity from nodes in the Symbola network.
It is built for real-time throughput: live media, streaming data and anything that can't wait for one slow link. The MVP already moves large files three times faster; continuous streaming is the next milestone.

How a transfer runs
- A large file or dataset is submitted for transfer.
- The control plane splits it into parts and picks several network paths through available nodes.
- The parts travel in parallel over encrypted tunnels, so one slow or congested route doesn't hold up the whole file.
- The parts are checked and reassembled at the destination.
What fits
| Situation | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Media teams moving dailies and raw footage | Uploads stop waiting on one line |
| Sites sharing large datasets | Throughput adds up across paths |
| Remote locations with weak links | A second or third path keeps data moving |
See how it fits into media production and edge workloads.
What's next
Next on the roadmap: active path selection based on measured path health, automatic rerouting when a node degrades, and streaming for real-time workloads.
